Claremont Motorsports Park &GSPSS Return to Action

Claremont Motorsports Park will swing open the gates and return to action Friday June fifth. Three local divisions will be on the card competing in heats and features alongside the Granite State Pro Stock Series. Fans will not be permitted in the grand stands as the track follows state guide lines for social distancing, but the entire program can be seen via pay-per-view on speed51.

The RE Hinkley Oil Company street stocks will will contest a thirty-lap feature as one of the most exciting divisions in the northeast returns to action. David Greenslit won the track championship at both Claremont and Monadnock Speedway as he had a dream season in 2019. “I’m extremely happy to get back behind the wheel after far to long away from the track”, said Greenslit during a break in last minute preparations. “Mike (Parks) and the entire staff have worked their butts off and we want to put on a good show Friday night.”

The Six Shooters will also be in action as this division grows in leaps and bounds in just its second year of competition. 2019 saw disappointing car counts but if practice is any indication a solid field of cars could be in attendance.  Jeremy Blood is the defending champion but expects a strong challenge as several heavy hitters are expected to make the trip from southern NH where they compete at several tracks.

The Lavalley Building Supply pure stocks will kick off there season and interest has been through the roof for this entry level four cylinder division. These cars are a great way to get into racing and car counts look to be on the rise in 2020. Speedway officials have received messages from numerous teams expressing interest in entering and this looks to be a barn burner for all 20 laps.

The tradition has become for the GSPSS to open its season at the Claremont NH speed plant and despite the delay this will hold true in 2020. With a strong field of cars expected to compete from five of the six New England states as well as a pair of drivers from New York State, this should be an event for the ages.

Despite the state of NH not allowing fans to witness this event first hand, fans of both the tracks regular competitors as well as the series teams can watch this event via pay-per-view. Speed51 will host this event with their staff providing the professional quality production that fans throughout the country have come to expect. “We are thrilled to have partnered up with Bob (Dilner), Brandon (Paul) and the crew at Speed51 to make this happen”, said Mike Parks. “We are ecstatic to be the first to be able to provide fans with the opportunity to see New England Super Late Model Racing”.  He went on to say “Hopefully we will be able to get fans back to the track soon but until then this will have to suffice”.

The cost for this event will be $24.95 and can be purchased at www.speed51.com. “We feel this is very fair,” says Parks. “A grandstand ticket would have been $20 and a few buddies can split the cost of the Speed51 broadcast and make it extremely reasonable”.

Several companies have stepped up to help make this event a reality. Crazy Horse Racing in South Paris ME not only added support to this event but has sponsored the track and for the second year in a row makes the Crazy Horse Racing Fast Time Challenge a reality.

Also getting involved is R&R Public Wholesalers in Hooksett NH. Jimmy Renfrew and his family owned business have added a speed parts division and made the decision to promote it through this event.

RE Hinkley Oil Company has been a longtime supporter of the speedway and that’s no different in 2020. They will be the sponsor of the street stock division and the supplier of the propane that powers the generators that run the lights. In addition they have increased their support to include this event.
