Claremont Motorsports Park May Schedule on Hold.

Claremont NH – The Month of May is usually the first full month of the race season in New England, unfortunately that will not be the case in 2020. As the country battles the Covid 19 pandemic, The Claremont Motorsports Park season, unfortunately is on hold. “The health and safety of our fans and race teams is our number one priority”, stated track operator Mike Parks. “As much as we want to be at the track every Friday night we will respect the directives of our Governor”.

The Tri Track Modified Series event scheduled for Sunday May 24th is also on hold for the foreseeable future. Several conversations have taken place between series owner Wayne Darling and Parks and once a solid time line is established every attempt will be made to reschedule.

“We are in a situation where we have more questions than answers. We want to get the gates open just as soon as we can whether that is for practice or competition” said Parks. “If we can come up with a way to work with the state and get open for practice we will do that”.

At this time the posted schedule has been put on hold with the intention of picking it up on the date permitted.  If for any reason something changes track officials will adjust accordingly.

During a break in recent track preparations Parks lamented, “this is not how we envisioned our first venture in season long track promotions. Hopefully the racers and fans will continue to stay positive and be ready to come back when the situation allows.”

MONADNOCK SPEEDWAY EVENT ON MAY 9 POSTPONED

TRI TRACK OPEN MODIFIED SERIES STATEMENT:

MONADNOCK SPEEDWAY EVENT ON MAY 9 POSTPONED

“The Tri Track Open Modified Series event at Monadnock Speedway, scheduled for May 9, has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The health and safety of our race teams, drivers, staff and fans continues to be paramount during this unprecedented situation. The series will continue to abide by guidelines given by local government and public health officials. At this time, Tri Track officials are working together with Monadnock Speedway to come up with a reschedule date that will fit both parties.”

2020 Northeast Classic Cancelled

Event Now to Debut in 2021

Waterbury, VT and Naples, ME – American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Pro All Star Series (PASS) officials have announced the 2020 Northeast Classic at Loudon’s New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS) has been cancelled. The inaugural edition of the event will now take place on April 16 and 17, 2021.

Despite the hopes of series officials, and a previous postponement to May 8 and 9, it became clear in recent days that holding the Northeast Classic in 2020 was no longer practical. The state of New Hampshire recently extended its State of Emergency declaration, and indications are that New Hampshire’s Stay at Home order will also be extended beyond the current May 4 expiration date.

Furthermore, the U.S.-Canada border remains closed to non-essential business, which would prevent the large amount of Quebec-based teams and fans who planned to attend the Northeast Classic from doing so. With the current health and safety concerns, and other postponements and uncertainty throughout the Northeast racing world making rescheduling even more difficult, the decision was made to wait until 2021 for the debut of the highly-anticipated event.

GSPSS and Star Speedway postpone May Race

The Granite State Pro Stock Series was supposed to have contested its opening round on Saturday April 25. Despite a picture perfect afternoon for racing, that did not happen. Now, again due to Covid-19, round two of the 2020 season has been postponed.

The second event for the series was scheduled to be held at Star Speedway in Epping NH. The quarter mile Bullring has quickly become a series favorite for drivers and fans alike. As of this release, no makeup date has been announced but conversations between series president Mike Parks and Star Speedway promoter Bobby Webber are ongoing.

“We would really like to be able to hold both races scheduled at Star”, Stated Parks “As we hear what the Governor of NH has to say over the next few weeks, we will look at both schedules and see what can be made to work”.

Unfortunately for fans and racers alike racing throughout the country and even the world has temporarily been interrupted for an indefinite period of time. “We have been listening to the governors and health officials of all the New Engand states as we look to see what can be saved of the 2020 schedule,” stated Parks. “We definitely don’t want to risk the health of any of our loyal fans and competitors”

RONNIE WILLIAMS SET TO DEFEND TRI TRACK TITLE IN 2020

RONNIE WILLIAMS SET TO DEFEND TRI TRACK TITLE IN 2020

By Kyle Souza

SEEKONK, Mass. — When the Tri Track Open Modified Series season takes the green flag, Ronnie Williams will look to keep his hot streak going.

Williams seems like a driver who is more than fit to chase a second consecutive championship.  The Ellington, Connecticut, native won the 2019 Tri Track title with car owner Gary Casella in their first year together as a team. Williams took the victory in the Open Wheel Wednesday $10,000 to win race at Seekonk Speedway, and sealed the title right back at Seekonk in the Haunted Hundred in October.

But that wasn’t his only success last year.

Williams also earned his second straight SK Modified championship at Connecticut’s Stafford Motor Speedway, becoming just the sixth driver in history to accomplish that feat. He drives for Adam Skowyra over at Stafford, another combination that has also been a successful one.

“It’s completely different with Gary and Adam,” Williams said. “They both bring great cars to the track – but Adam has like 15 guys that show up to the track and Gary has like four – but they both provide me great race cars that every single time I go to the track, I know I can win. I hadn’t been to at least a few of the tracks on the Tri Track last year – but we were able to have instant success. I’m really looking forward to going back there with Gary.”
